Our Mission

Our mission at Shady Hill Elementary is to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where all students are encouraged to succeed academically, physically, socially, and emotionally. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn in a positive school community where they feel valued, respected, and motivated to reach their fullest potential.

At Shady Hill, we are committed to excellence in education and to helping students develop the skills, confidence, and character needed to become lifelong learners and productive citizens in an ever-changing world. Through meaningful instruction, strong relationships, and a focus on the whole child, we strive to meet the individual needs of every student.

Our highly qualified teachers and staff work together each day to create engaging learning experiences, encourage student growth, and support success both inside and outside the classroom. By partnering with families and the community, we are dedicated to building a strong foundation that helps every Colt learn, lead, and thrive.

Need to Transfer Out-of-State Immunizations?

Families transferring from another state to Marion County Public Schools need to transfer their child’s immunization records to a Florida immunization form.

Student Wellness Check-In Surveys

Student wellness and support are important to us. The links below provide access to the Student Check-In Surveys. Students may use these surveys to request support from MCPS mental health personnel when needed.

Daily schedule

Student Day	7:35 AM - 2:10 PM
Breakfast Served	7:15 AM - 7:35 AM
Teacher Day	7:05 AM - 2:50 PM
Early Release	7:35 AM - 12:10 PM
School Office	7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Breakfast and Lunch: Free for all children

Student Check-Out Cutoff Times

For the safety of students and to help protect dismissal procedures, student check-outs must be completed before the designated cutoff times.

Regular School Days: Students may be checked out no later than 1:30 P.M.
Half Days / Early Release Days: Students may be checked out no later than 11:30 A.M.

After these times, students will remain in their regular dismissal process. Families are encouraged to plan ahead for appointments or early pick-ups.
